2017 Season

Naracoorte Budget Note 5/8/17

Tammy Creaser - Saturday, August 05, 2017

Last Saturday we took a trip down the highway to take on Kaniva Leeor and unfortunately only come away with one win.

Hayden heroes in the contest all day and had their fair share of the footy but just couldn't put it on the score board and going down by 10 points

Best players for the Junior Colts were Ladies Footy Club Committee voucher Dylan Carnemolla, Tatiara Industrial Repairs award Owen Mewett, Jolpac Rural Supplies Innocent Nkurunziza, Tatiara Driver Training award Bryson Hinge, Bordertown Fruit Market award Max McLellan, Limestone Coast Freight award Billy Whittlesea, Neil & Pam Murch coaches award Declan O'Sullivan.

Harry Houdini's had a disappointing game. The Kaniva boys played very well and our boys just couldn't match their intensity. A big week on the track and hopefully the boys can knock off a few of the top teams before the finals. Best players were Footy Club Ladies Committee award Lachlan Makin, Pooles Menswear & Surf award Reagan Tink, Murch Plumbing & Roofing award Lachlan Murch, Optimum Cut award Ryan Boyd, Wickham Flower award Seb Trenorden, Ray White Real Estate award Tyson Leigh and the Blackwell Plumbing coaches award Jarrod Ballinger.

Mal's Magicians had the breeze and came out of the block early and didn't look back coming away with a 5 goal win. Best players were Upper SE Liquid Waste & Creaser Haulage & Bobcat & Ladies Footy Club Committee award Brent Lodewyk, Shane Redden Kitchens/Norton Bulk Haulage award Josh Tink, Bordertown Pharmacy & Will Inspect Graeme Twigden, Cut Loose Hair & Body Lounge voucher Jesse Partridge, Sport n Moore award Darcy Whittlesea and the coaches encouragement award went to Thomas Pepper.

Trenner's Terriers played a hard tough game and showed glimpse if we keep this group of lads together what they can really do. Unfortunately after leading all game they fell short by a goal. Hopefully that has put a bit of fire in the belly and the boys come out firing this week. Best Players were Jolpac Rural Supplies /Wise Ford award Josh Searle, Densley Earthmoving /Wickham Flower award Henry Trenorden, AWE Richards Meat Voucher Ben Jarrett, Optimum Cut Hair voucher Sam Devitt, Bordertown Pharmacy award Rory Tink, coaches encouragement award Ladies Meal Voucher to Brent Shuttleworth.

While we are still on last week Graeme Twigden put on the Rooster jumper for the 100th time. The club thanks Graeme and his family for their contribution and we are all looking forward to seeing a few more one handed clunks from the big fella in the years to come.

Onto this week and we have another milestone with our young Vice Captain Brent Shuttleworth playing his 50th game. Great work Shutta, the club thanks you for your service and is looking forward to seeing you lead and grow into an elite footballer in this competition.

This week we are on the road again to take on Naracoorte where I'm sure there will be four very entertaining games!

The club would like to thank all our hard working volunteers for their help to run the SANFL game last Sunday. The day was great and went well and talking to a few people around the town the reports were all good. The club would like to thank Glenelg and Adelaide for coming down and putting on a great game of footy!! Thank you must go to Glenelg for approaching us and giving us the opportunity to host their home game in the country!

This Saturday night we have our Chinese Banquet/Quiz night which will be a lot of fun so be sure to get there and see if HHHOOOMMMMPPP can stump you with a few questions. August 12th we have a band so another great night planned!!

Go Roosters!
