Last week we took a trip to the unusual sunny Goroke to take on the Border District Eagles and we came away 3 from 3 with the junior colts and the A grade getting their first win on the board. While the Reserves got back on the winners list making them 2 wins and 1 loss. After hours was a delicious meal down at our Major Sponsors Woolshed Inn. While a few boys made the trek up to Adelaide to watch Linc run around Adelaide oval. After the game I heard they ended up having a big night, so big that Shauny had to tell all the guys that he could count four stamps on his arms from all the pubs they went to while he was on the toilet!
Well weren't the junior colts up and about last weekend. They played a really fast and attacking style of footy and ran away comfortable victors in the end. Best players were Gus Day (Tolmer Takeaway award), Stuart Greenslade (Tatiara Industrial Repairs award), Zac Bertus (Jolpac Rural Supplies award), Ethan Smedley (Optimum Cut Award), Ryan Boyd (Bordertown Fruit Market award), Thomas Belluzzo (Limestone Coast Freight Award).
The Reserves came out a little bit slow but after that it was all our way controlling the play both ends of the ground. Best players were Joshua Tink (Upper SE Liquid Waste and Creaser Haulage and Bobcat Award), Kye Thompson (Shane Redden Kitchens/ Norton Bulk Haulage Award and Ladies Committee Meal Voucher), Travis Verco (Bordertown Pharmacy / Will Inspect Award), Brodie Foulds (Optimum Cut Hair Voucher), Tom Pepper (Woolshed Inn Voucher) Shaun Creaser (Sport 'N' Moore Award).
Coxy's troops got their first win for the year in style coming away with a 130 point win. There endeavour at the body and ball was a lot better and it was led by a few of the younger fellas which was good to see. All the hard work paying off for Zac McLellan with him playing his 1st A Grade game, congrats Zac keep it up! Best players were Gene Robinson (Jolpac Rural Supplies/ Wise Ford Award) Brent Shuttleworth (Densley Earthmoving / Wickham Flower Award), Heath Caldwell (AWE Richards Meat Voucher), Bradley Paech (Woolshed Inn Voucher), Lochie Eats (Cut Loose Hair and Beauty Lounge Voucher), Campbell Dahlitz (Bordertown Pharmacy Award).
Another milestone this week with Clint (Boomer) Barras putting on the red and white jumper for his 150th time. After a few years away from the club he has come back and been a valuable asset to the A grade and we look forward to seeing him playing many more in the future.
This week we welcome our old friends from out the road to the chook pen and hopefully we send them back with four losses to their name. Always a close game against the Tigers but this game will mean a little bit more with the 75, 76 and the 86 ,87 premiership teams watching this weekend so let's get out there and make it a reunion not to forget!
