2016 Season

21/5/16 Lucindale's Budget Note

Tammy Creaser - Saturday, May 21, 2016

Last week we welcome our friends from across the border, the Kaniva Leeor Cougars and came away with 4 wins. With all teams winning quite well it was a great day had by all. After hours was another successful night in the clubrooms with the music playing until close. Seeing that it was also a special night for Heath as it was his birthday. I heard a little story that he became quite friendly with a few of the guys and got a few cheeky birthday kisses. Lucky your birthday only comes around once a year Heath or you might start getting a few boys worried.

H's Heroes started a little slow last week but ended up kicking away in the third quarter and came home with a strong win. Great work lads its really good to see the improvement each and every week and even better to see you knocking on the finals door. Best players were Ethan Smedley (Tolmer Takeaway award), Josh Will (Tatiara Industrial Repairs award), Izak Bertus (Jolpac Rural Supplies award), Connor Langdon (Optimum Cut Award), Aiden McLellan (Bordertown Fruit Market award), Seb Trenorden (Limestone Coast Freight Award).

Trenners Terriers came out hard and put the game away early. As I said last week a couple of tough games coming up so get fired up boys and show us what your made of. Best players were Beau Shinnick (Neil/Pam Murch / Blackwell Plumbing Award), Cam Makin (Pooles Menswear and Surf Award), Nick Dahlitz (Murch Plumbing and Roofing Award), Hayden Shuttleworth (Tatiara Driver Training Award), Matthew Leigh (Wickham Flower Award), Henry Kroemer (Ray White Real Estate Award).

Mal's Magicians played a very good game keeping the depleted Kaniva Reserves scoreless for the whole day. A big thanks to the lads that played for Cougars Reserves. It's also  great to see so many numbers on the track each and every week,  pushing each other to the limits for spots which also puts pressure on the A grade. Keep it up fellas! Best players were Nick Hampel (Upper SE Liquid Waste and Creaser Haulage and Bobcat Award), Matt Ward (Shane Redden Kitchens/ Norton Bulk Haulage Award and Ladies Committee Meal Voucher), Clint Williams (Bordertown Pharmacy / Will Inspect Award), Owen Butler (Optimum Cut Hair Voucher), Josh Tink (Woolshed Inn Voucher) Jake Verco (Sport 'N' Moore Award).

Coxy's Chargers missed a few shots early and the Cougars were challenging well. A 9 goals to 1 second quarter opened the game up and the boys ran over the top to win comfortably. Best players were Lachlan Eats (Jolpac Rural Supplies/ Wise Ford Award), Clint Diment (Densley Earthmoving / Wickham Flower Award), Brent Shuttleworth (AWE Richards Meat Voucher), Carson Clark (Woolshed Inn Voucher), Josh Searle (Cut Loose Hair and Beauty Lounge Voucher), Cam Dahlitz (Bordertown Pharmacy Award).

This week we head to Lucindale to take on the Roos where there should be 3 cracking games as the junior colts are having a rest this week. I hope everyone has a enjoyable day with a few wins coming Roosters way. After the games make sure you get down to the Woolshed Inn our Major sponsor for a delicious meal and a few celebratory drinks.
