Last week we went over the border to take on the KLU cougars and came home with 3 wins with the senior colts having a scratch match. It was great to see the Junior colts get over the line and the Reserves and the A grade had strong wins. Saturday night was a quiet one with a few of the boys celebrating Tommy Peps 18th in fine style. Tool of the week goes to Josh Searle who decided to leave his bag at home instead of bringing it to the game. I thought teachers are meant to be very organised people, Josh?
Onto the games from last weekend H's Heroes snuck home by just 2 points to have a great win. Unfortunately these boys won't be playing finals, so make sure we all get out early in the morning and watch the future of our footy club cause a upset to finish off a great season!. Best players were Angus Day (Tolmer Takeaway award), Josh Will (Tatiara Industrial Repairs award), Billy Whittlesea (Jolpac Rural Supplies award), Aiden McLellan (Optimum Cut Award), Jazper Reardon (Bordertown Fruit Market award), James Gurney-Wellington (Limestone Coast Freight Award)
With Kaniva forfeiting the boys had a scratch match which was a great game to watch. A lot of talent in this side so hopefully the boys roll on and finish strong in the finals. Best players were Cam Makin (Neil/Pam Murch / Blackwell Plumbing Award), Matt Leigh (Pooles Menswear and Surf Award), Lachlan Makin (Murch Plumbing and Roofing Award), Brodie Foulds (Tatiara Driver Training Award) Nick Dahlitz (Wickham Flower Award), Lachlan Makin (Ray White Real Estate Award)
Mal's Magicians came out a lot more fired up than last week and put the game away early. These lads have secured a top 3 spot now so hopefully the boys have a strong game this week and go into the finals full of confidence. Best players were Jacob Eats (Upper SE Liquid Waste and Creaser Haulage and Bobcat Award), Graeme Twidgen (Shane Redden Kitchens/ Norton Bulk Haulage Award and Ladies Committee Meal Voucher), Nick Hampel (Bordertown Pharmacy / Will Inspect Award), Owen Butler (Optimum Cut Hair Voucher), Clinton Williams (Woolshed Inn Voucher) Kye Thompson (Sport 'N' Moore Award).
Coxy's Chargers came out slow for the third week in a row but produced 3 good quarters to come away with a 10 goal win. Its elimination for these lads from now on, lose and they don't play the next week. So it will be good to see many supporter there cheering the boys on and hopefully the boys can do something special! Best players were Clint Diment (Jolpac Rural Supplies/ Wise Ford Award), Heath Calwell (Densley Earthmoving / Wickham Flower Award), Josh Searle (AWE Richards Meat Voucher), Gene Robinson (Woolshed Inn Voucher), Jed Jarrett (Cut Loose Hair and Beauty Lounge Voucher), Brent Shuttleworth (Bordertown Pharmacy Award)
The club would also like to congratulate Jonty Searle for reaching the 50 games mark this week. Jonty is another lad who has come through the junior ranks and is really starting to produce some good footy. The club thanks him for his effort and hope there is plenty more games in the red and white jumper.
Our Game day sponsor this week is McCarthy Transport. The club thanks them for their support and the support from all sponsors. The club wouldn't be what it is without the generous people in the district.
This week we welcome Lucindale to the chook pen for the final minor round game of the year. I wish everyone a enjoyable day and hopefully the rooster can come away with a bunch of wins.
Come to the club tonight for tea and rock into the early hours with band Missing Binks, hope we have the clubrooms full.
