REMEMBER TO VOTE. Yes people, it's Election day, so if you haven't yet get a pass out and get down to the polling booth. Last week was a mixed bag with two good wins and two not so good losses.
I was lucky enough to be at the footy early last week and saw the future stars running around in near freezing conditions before the Under 14s. Well done to all involved in the early game - you can see how much the kids love it.
The Junior Colts, after a couple of weeks off, ran into a very good side from Naracoorte. The boys tried hard all day but were just outclassed. Best players: 1st Jasper Reardon (Tolmer Takewaway), 2nd Izak (the Rat) Bertus (Tatiara Industrial Repairs), 3rd Bryson Hinge (Jolpac Rural Supplies), 4th Jarrod Ballinger (Optimum Cut), 5th Josh Will (Bordertown Fruit Market), 6th Charlie Ferguson (Limestone Coast Freight).
Tren's young men kept up their winning ways in a good display of football against good opposition. The panel saw the best like this: 1st Big Brodie Foulds (Neil & Pam Murch/Blackwell Plumbing), 2nd Tate Carson (Pooles Menswear & Surf). How were some of the marks those two took? 3rd taking home his own award, Lachie Murch (Murch Plumbing & Roofing), 4th Bradley Lodewyk (Tatiara Diver Training), 5th Bram Whittlesea (Wickham Flower), second week in a row - 6th best, Dusty Inglis (Ray White Real Estate).
Mal's Magicians, how long has it been sine we have beaten Naracoorte in the Ressies was the question? I haven't done my homework so I can't tell you, but it's a long time. Best players as the crew saw it: Dan Feder (Upper South East Liquid Waste and Creaser Haulage & Bobcat), Ethan O'Sullivan (Shane Redden's Kitchens/Norton Bulk Haulage/Ladies Committee Meal Voucher), Shaun (must be knocking on the door) Creaser (Bordertown Pharmacy/Will Inspect), Graeme Twigden (Cut Loose Hair & Body Lounge), Josh Tink (Woolshed Inn) and also second week in a row Owen Butler (C.H. Wiese).
Coxy's Chargers. Didn't have much charge at all. Well done Naracoorte you came and showed our boys how to play good hard team football. Roosters that's what happens when you drink your own bath water. Back on track today and make amends for that Hard job picking best players last week but this young man did his job all day, Bradley Paech (Jolpac Rural Supplies/Wise Ford), Jed Jarrett (Densley Earthmoving/Wickham Flower), Mitchell Dahlitz (AWE Richards Meat Voucher), Harry Fromm (Woolshed Inn), Heath Caldwell (Optimum Cut Hair), something is going on here are we trying to make my job easier. Another second week in a row - Kane Cuthbertson (Bordertown Pharmacy).
After hours a small but energetic crowd turned back the clock with the Shinnick and Murch families owning the dance floor and Mrs Pepper teaching the under tens some interesting new games.
Welcome to the Southern Tigers today, another four big games to witness, it should be a good day. Good luck to all. Remember to Vote.
