Last week we took a trip down to Kingston and came home with 3 wins and a loss. The junior colts came up against very strong opposition where as the senior colts, reserves and the main game all took the points quite convincingly. While most went back home after the day a few stayed back. One in particular had too much fun causing him to get lost from the crowd and ended up having a snooze next to the car he was meant to go home in. Just to make things worse the rain decided to set in which he then decided he didn't have enough time on the bench for the day so he ended up sleeping in the coaches box. I'm sure the coaches can sought out a bit more of a rest for you this week Jonty.
Back to last week Hayden's Heroes had a bit of trouble putting the points on the board as the young Sainters had the mercy rule applied to us just after half time. To their credit the lads never gave up and really are improving every week which is good to see. Best players were Izak Bertus (Tolmer Takeaway award), Jaz Readon (Tatiara Industrial Repairs award), Ryan Boyd (Jolpac Rural Supplies award), Ethan Smedley (Optimum Cut Award), Charlie Ferguson (Bordertown Fruit Market award), Billy Whittlesea (Limestone Coast Freight Award).
Trenners Terriers got the wins rolling for the day by 90 points. These lads are also getting better each week but with tough games coming up in the next couple of weeks , I dare say some of these lads could be getting a look in for a senior spot. It will really show just how much depth and determination this side has. Best players were Riley Densley (Neil/Pam Murch / Blackwell Plumbing Award), Beau Shinnick (Pooles Menswear and Surf Award), Brodie Foulds (Murch Plumbing and Roofing Award), Tyson Leigh (Tatiara Driver Training Award), Tate Carson (Wickham Flower Award), Josh Francis (Ray White Real Estate Award).
Mal's Magicians had a slow start to the game with Kingston putting up a good fight early on, with improved skills and hardness at the ball it was enough to get ressies over the line by 50 points. Best players were Tom Bailey (Upper SE Liquid Waste and Creaser Haulage and Bobcat Award), Jake Verco (Shane Redden Kitchens/ Norton Bulk Haulage Award and Ladies Committee Meal Voucher), Matt Ward (Bordertown Pharmacy / Will Inspect Award), Ethan O'Sullivan (Optimum Cut Hair Voucher), Brent Lodewyk (Woolshed Inn Voucher) Trokon Gbone (Sport 'N' Moore Award).
Coxy's Chargers also had a slow start losing the clearances in the first quarter but once again the defenders were all over the forwards and shutting everything down that came in and sending it back our way which our forwards capitalised on. The rest of the game the midfielders got on top and they started to use the ball beautifully which helped them run away with a 130 point victory. Best players were Carson Clark (Jolpac Rural Supplies/ Wise Ford Award), Clint Diment (Densley Earthmoving / Wickham Flower Award), Lachlan Eats (AWE Richards Meat Voucher), Ben McConnell (Woolshed Inn Voucher), Brent Shuttleworth (Cut Loose Hair and Beauty Lounge Voucher), Jed Jarrett (Bordertown Pharmacy Award).
The club would like to thank Wise Farm Equipment PTY LTD for being this week's game day sponsor as we take on the Cougars at home. So everyone get down there and cheer on the mighty roosters to what will hopefully be four good wins.
