Last week we were back at home taking on the Kingston Saints and came home with 3 wins out of 4 with our junior colts just not quite getting over the line. Saturday night events was the annual games night which was a great success with Gus and Nath taking out the trophy for the second year in a row. Best dressed on the night went to Dale B and Sammy B, special mention went to Bud who apparently can't keep up with the young fellas as he decided to have a bit of a nap before going home for the night!
Onto the games from last weekend the last time H's Heroes played Kingston they were mercy ruled at half time. This time the lads played exceptional and were in front at half time but just couldn't hang on going down by 3 goals. Great effort fellas, the way you have improved over the year has been awesome and the club is proud of the way you have gone about it. Best players were Angus Day (Tolmer Takeaway award), Ethan Smedley (Tatiara Industrial Repairs award), Seb Trenorden (Jolpac Rural Supplies award), Ryan Boyd (Optimum Cut Award), Stuart Greenslade (Bordertown Fruit Market award), Izak Bertus (Limestone Coast Freight Award).
Trenners Terriers kept on their winning way keeping the fourth place Saints scoreless. It's exciting times ahead for the club with a good bunch of colts coming through the ranks which some are already playing good footy at senior level. Best players were Bradley Lodewyk (Neil/Pam Murch / Blackwell Plumbing Award), Sam Pepper (Pooles Menswear and Surf Award), Hayden Shuttleworth (Murch Plumbing and Roofing Award), Bram Whittlesea (Tatiara Driver Training Award) Matt Leigh (Wickham Flower Award), Josh Francis (Ray White Real Estate Award).
Mal's Magicians got the win but to Kingston's credit they made the boys work hard for it. Hopefully the lads put a hard week in on the track and come out with their best efforts against Kaniva. Best players were Clint Barras (Upper SE Liquid Waste and Creaser Haulage and Bobcat Award), Nick Hampel (Shane Redden Kitchens/ Norton Bulk Haulage Award and Ladies Committee Meal Voucher), Clinton Williams (Bordertown Pharmacy / Will Inspect Award), Shaun Creaser (Optimum Cut Hair Voucher), Brent Lodewyk (Woolshed Inn Voucher) Matthew Tink (Sport 'N' Moore Award).
Coxy's Chargers came out a little slow again but found another gear in the second and third to get on top. To Kingston's credit they didn't allow the margin to blow out and won the last quarter. These lads also need a big week on the track! They must have confidence and belief in one another going into the last couple of games because they are a great side when it all comes together. Best players were Rory Tink (Jolpac Rural Supplies/ Wise Ford Award), Gene Robinson (Densley Earthmoving / Wickham Flower Award), Clint Diment (AWE Richards Meat Voucher), Heath Caldwell (Woolshed Inn Voucher), Carson Clark (Cut Loose Hair and Beauty Lounge Voucher), Mitchell Dahlitz (Bordertown Pharmacy Award) .
This week we head over the border to take on the Cougars and we should see 4 entertaining games. Be sure to come back to the clubrooms for tea as I hear that it was Tommy Peps 18th birthday during the week, lets help celebrate this milestone with him! Happy birthday Thomas!!
