It was good to have the footy back, and we've now got a run of weeks before the June long weekend. Last week we took on the crows and came away with the ledger all tied up at 2 a piece. The netball opening was a great success. Last weeks late night best afield without doubt goes to the incumbent president. P Diddy was working his air guitar a little too hard to some AC/DC and managed to face-plant the floor. Ending with some severe carpet burn to the face.
Tren's little fellas came up against a very classy Keith Junior colts side and were handed a sizeable beating. With some winnable games to come they will be looking to improve and get some wins in the bank. Best players were Lachie Makin (Tolmer Takeaway), Dougal "Rock of Gibraltar" Day (Tatiara Industrial Repairs), Tyson Leigh (Jolpac), Jamie Francis (Optimum Cut), Charlie "big pipes" Pietsch (Bordertown Fruit Market), Ethan Smedley (Limestone Coast Freight).
Johnnie Walkers senior colts were once again pretty impressive. They are playing some great football and with some good sized players across the ground it's a well balanced team. Best players were Jacob "the old flat tyre excuse to miss training on Tuesday night trick" Eats (N & P Murch & Blackwell Plumbing), Beau Shinnick (Pooles Menswear), Tom "needs a filter on his mouth" Pepper (Murch Plumbing and Roofing), Anthony Moneva (Tatiara Driver training), Aaron Beck (Wickham Flower), Jack Trenorden (Ray White).
The magoos were out to prove a point and were able to get the chocolates. With a lot more room for improvement the side has some good games coming up to improve themselves against quality opposition. Best were Nick Hampel (USE Liquid waste & Creaser Bobcat and haulage), Dan Feder (Redden kitchens, Norton Bulk & Ladies meal voucher), Josh Tink (Bordertown Pharmacy & Wild Mulberry Garden centre), Brent Lodewyk (Cut loose hair &. Body lounge), Tom Reynolds (Woolshed Inn), Bradley Paech (Sport N Moore).
A quality Keith outfit greeted our boys last week and were far too good across the board. We weren't allowed to play the game we wanted which was a testament to their style of football, they are shaping as an early contender. However with so much improvement still left, to only go down by 7 goals shows that we're not far away. Best were Rory Tink (Jolpac & Wise Ford), Nathan Clark (Densley Earthmoving & Wickham Flower), Kane Cuthbertson (AWE Richards), Nick Hewitt (Woolshed Inn), Hayden Paech (Optimum Cut), Mathew Tober (Bordertown Pharmacy).
Today we back at home again, this time we take on the other Dukes Highway dweller. KLU will come across with their sombreros and ponchos looking to steal some points, let's send back with nothing and have a good day out. Today's game day sponsor is JOLPAC, if you need dog food and like "dad jokes" then head up to JOLPAC and talk to a past player Damien Pilgrim and he will be able to look after you, he has a whole encyclopaedia of Dad Jokes at his ready. Be sure to take a needle and thread as you will need it to sow your sides back together.
