Welcome all to the final game for the season before finals start. That smell of freshly cut grass is beginning to waft around the place and with 3 of our teams gearing up for finals action today only marks seasons end for our little Junior Colts. Last weekend was a great day out with the sponsors day and the live band a big hit with the rooster faithful. Best on was without doubt Davey Wurst after celebrating his 300th with a couple of goals in the last quarter.
Tren's little fellas had a good hit out with their classy players playing some very good team footy. Today is their last outing for the year so hopefully they can have a win.Best players were Lachie "Puss" Makin (Tolmer Takeaway), Lachie Murch (Tatiara Industrial Repairs), Tyson Leigh (Jolpac), Jamie Francis (Optimum Cut), Seb Trenorden (Bordertown Fruit Market), Dougal "2 hairs on my chest" Day (Limestone Coast Freight).
Johnnies boys had the day off and will be gearing up for a big 5 weeks of footy, best of luck for them all and if they play good team footy they will be fine.
The magoos were able to fight off a spirited Padthaway side and continue their improved form from the previous week. The key today is to continue that and get ready for the finals. Best were Jarred Creaser (USE Liquid Waste & Creaser Bobcat and Haulage), Jake Verco (Redden kitchens, Norton Bulk Haulage & Ladies meal voucher), Josh Tink (Bordertown Pharmacy & Wild Mulberry Garden centre), Brendan Kupke (Cut loose hair &. Body lounge), Riley Mewett (Woolshed Inn), Aryton Seneca (Sport N Moore).
Hayseys men were gallant in defeat and threatened to make a comeback but weren't able to bridge the gap. They need to win this week and make sure of their position on the ladder and prepare for the finals. Best were Maddy Hayes (Jolpac & Wise Ford), Clint Diment (Densley Earthmoving & Wickham Flower), Gene Robinson (AWE Richards), Angus Diment (Woolshed Inn), Brent Lodewyk (Optimum Cut), Sam Devitt (Bordertown Pharmacy).
Today we are on the annual pilgrimage down to the coast to take on the saints. Hopefully we all have a good day and get the four wins. Today we celebrate some more milestones, with Bruce Tink and Maddy Hayes playing 100 games and Hayden Paech 50. Its great to see a bunch of young guys notching up 50-100 games. Hopefully they can all stick around and play some really good footy together over the next 5-10 years.
