Last weeks trek over to Goroke was once again one of those freezing cold winters day. With a tough day of winter footy it was just good to get out of their with the wins in the bank. This week we host the Eagles for the south on our home turf which should be a great day of footy all day.
Tren's little fellas went down to play a scratch match which enabled all the kids to have a kick and catch. It was good to see a great game of footy where all our players got some game time. Best players were Tyson Leigh (Tolmer Takeaway), Lachie Makin (Jolpac), Isac Bertun (The optimum cut), Jared Ballinger (Tatiara Industrial Repairs), Billy Whittlesea (Limecoast Freight), Thomas Belluzzo (Bordertown Fruit Market).
Johnnie Walkers lads had the week off, but players were sent far and wide, there was a few who played in the junior colts scratch match, there was some at Kyby playing for KL, and some at Lucindale playing for them, a couple were in our A grade and one was in our B grade. All in all that's 5 different sides, pretty good effort from all players and more importantly the parents for giving up their time.
The magoos were undermanned and were slow to start. But by half time they seemed to be getting the lion share of the ball and were able to grind out a victory. Best players were Braden Hill (USE Liquid waste & Creaser Bobcat and Haulage), Graeme Twigden (Redden kitchens, Norton Bulk & Ladies meal voucher), Dan Feder (Bordertown Pharmacy & Wild Mulberry), Nathan Tink (The Optimum cut), Evan Joshua (Woolshed Inn), Matt Tink (Sport N Moore).
Haysey's boys were, like the lads before a little undermanned but were able to get the win. With some inspired wet weather footy there were all tough and hard at it in the last quarter to hang on for a narrow win. Best were Lochie "mr forgetful" Eats (Jolpac & Wise Ford), Nafe "Captain Courageous" Clark (Densley Earthmoving & Wickham Flower), Rory Tink (AWE Richards), Brent Shuttleworth (Woolshed Inn), Gene Robinson (Cut Loose hair and Body lounge), Angus Diment (Bordertown Pharmacy).
Today we are playing Penola and all games are shaping as big games which will shape the finals. Let's come away with 4 good wins and celebrate in the clubrooms after. Today's major game day sponsor is Richards Butchers.
