Welcome all to the penultimate round of minor games for the season and our final home game for the season. Last week we took on the Cougars over there and we were able to have a good club day getting all four wins. The A grade boys had a scare late but were able to ensure the four wins were completed.
The beach party was a success and we expect you all to stay tonight for the Live Band in the clubrooms "locker 83". Now you would have thought that lasts weeks "best on" was going to come from the beach party, but no you are wrong. Best afield was my mate Roly Day who locked his keys in his ute the other night at the monthly committee meeting. C'mon Roly who would want to steal your ute anyway it's a 1996 HJ75 landcruiser, and if it was being pinched I'm sure the squealing fan belt would have alerted you.
Tren's little fellas had a good win and kicked quite a big score, with some 5 goal bags collected by the lads. Best players were Lachie Murch (Tolmer Takeaway), Jamie Francis (Jolpac), Lachie Makin (The optimum cut), Tyson Leigh (Tatiara Industrial Repairs), Angus Day (Limecoast Freight), Charlie Ferguson (Bordertown Fruit Market).
Johnnie Walkers boys probably had their toughest game mentally this year as the were challenged by a determined KL outfit. The game was at arms reach all day but wasn't done until late in the last quarter. Best players were Matt Leigh (Niel and Pam Murch Award), Ben Jarrett (Pooles Menswear), Cam Makin (Murch Plumbing and Roofing), Ethan Sullivan (Tatiara Driver training), Sam Pepper (Wickham Flower), Tate Carson (Ray White).
The magoos were back in business last week, they played some quality footy and were able to play a great brand of footy, the next few weeks should be good tough games to fine tune their game. Best players were Jake Verco (USE Liquid waste & Creaser Bobcat and Haulage), Josh Tink (Redden kitchens, Norton Bulk & Ladies meal voucher), Jarred Creaser (Bordertown Pharmacy & Wild Mulberry), Garion Rae (The Optimum cut), Graeme Twigden (Woolshed Inn), Darcy Whittlesea (Sport N Moore).
Haysey's boys were out make sure of a top three spot and were able to limp over the line and get the win in the end. It was a high scoring affair and was a great game to sit on the hill and watch. Was also good to see the big H Fromm clunking some grabs and drilling sausage rolls which gave the supporters a glimpse into our future. Best were Gene Robinson (Jolpac & Wise Ford), Maddy Hayes (Densley Earthmoving & Wickham Flower), Matt Tober (AWE Richards), Thomas Wheelan (Woolshed Inn), Dan Feder (Cut Loose hair and Body Lounge), Sam Devitt (Bordertown Pharmacy).
Today we host the Paddy Lions, which shapes as a prelude to the A grade game we will see on the first Saturday in the finals. Also tonight is the last home game so make sure you all file in and settle in for the live band.
Today also marks sponsors day, so make sure you say g'day to all the peeps in the tent and thank them for their support. Today's game day sponsor is McCarthy Transport and JBS Swift. Last but not least today also marks 100 games for Josh Searle and 300 games for David Wurst. David is a great clubman and has played many roles on the footy field. He is now running around in the magoos taking the tallest forward every week. Congratulations Davey, lets get four good wins and get you on the porta-gaff at half time of the A's and celebrate hard.
