We're back into it again after the interleague weekend off for most. Well done to our boys who represented the club last weekend. Rory and Kane in the seniors, Jacob Eats and Ben Jarrett in U/17's, Jamie as coach and Hayden Shuttleworth, Dusty Inglis, Linc Weatherald, and Jack Trenorden in the U15's as well as Lachie Murch, Tyson Leigh and Lachie Makin in the U14's. Rumour has it that Kane made some "monumental" turnovers late in the grand final of the seniors and he cost the whole KNTFL the title !!!!!
Tren's little fellas were up against it the other week when mundulla had a good little side on the park. Make sure you get there early and watch some of our good little juniors ply their trade as there's some kids there with some real talent. Best players were Lachie Makin (Tolmer Takeaway), Tyson Leigh (Jolpac), Joain Tumlos (The optimum cut), Seb Trenorden (Tatiara Industrial Repairs), Ethan Smedley (Limecoast Freight), Charlie Ferguson (Bordertown Fruit Market).
Chivas Regal boys were all fired up and ready to take on the moots for high school bragging rights. And to their credit they stuck to the task at hand and were able to complete a good team victory. Best players were Matt Leigh (Niel and Pam Murch Award), Brodie Foulds (Pooles Menswear), Harry Fromm (Murch Plumbing and Roofing), Ben Jarrett (Tatiara Driver training), Casey Semler (Wickham Flower), Jarrod Langley (Ray White).
In a typical scrappy B Grade game between mundulla and bordertown the magoos were outclassed from go to woe, the boys struggled to get any game flow going and it showed on the scoreboard. Best players were Nick Hampel (USE Liquid waste & Creaser Bobcat and haulage), Josh Tink (Redden kitchens, Norton Bulk & Ladies meal voucher), Graeme Twigden (Bordertown Pharmacy & Wild Mulberry), Garion Rae (The Optimum cut), Owen Butler (Woolshed Inn), Darcy Whittlesea (Sport N Moore).
Haysey's boys were going into the game as the form team if ladder positions were anything to go by, however it's always a tight tussle with the moots. Up until 3 qtr time there was still a chance mundulla could win the game but a stellar performance by Harkness and Gene sniffed that out and pushed the lead beyond 10 goals. Best were Rory Tink (Jolpac & Wise Ford), Clint Diment (Densley Earthmoving & Wickham Flower), Tim Harkness (AWE Richards), Gene Robinson (Woolshed Inn), Brent Shuttleworth (Cut Loose hair and Body lounge), Cam Dahlitz (Bordertown Pharmacy).
Last weeks Rump and Red/ Quiz night was a screaming success. With the club still packed at stumps it was very well organised. Coming up on the social calendar Roly has informed me that there is a comedy night to be held at the club next weekend on the 20th after we play Kyby. There will be no teas at the club that night, as the comedians will begin from 8pm. Cost will be $30 per ticket and you must be 15 years old or more to gain entry. To get you through till then, just for a laugh I suggest you ask Roly how is new seeder is going, my mail has it that he got his tractor bogged 4 times before he sowed 100m of a 50ha paddock!!!
Today the Roos from Lucindale head up to inspect their ancestors the white kangaroos at the wildlife park and have a game of footy in the meantime. Let's make it the full bag of wins and celebrate in the club afterwards. Congratulations also goes to the following players who play their 50th games for the footy club Jake Verco, Michael Long and Graeme Twigden.
